§ 8. Abandoning or temporarily abandoning a piping system.

In the event of abandoning or temporarily abandoning a pipeline system or any part thereof, it shall be the duty of Seaway under observation of the City that:
a.

Facilities to be abandoned or temporarily abandoned in place shall be disconnected from all sources of the transported fluid liquid such as other pipelines, meter stations, control lines, and other appurtenances; and

b.

Facilities to be abandoned or temporarily abandoned in place shall be purged of the transported fluid and replaced with an inert material vented as appropriate and the ends sealed.
