§ 2-556. Penalty—Destruction or alienation of record.

  • (a)

    An officer or employee of the city commits an offense if the officer or employee knowingly or intentionally violates this article or state law or rules adopted under it by destroying or alienating a city local government record in contravention of this article, or by intentionally failing to deliver records to a successor in office as provided by section 22-552.

    (b)

    Any person violating any of the provisions of this article shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be as provided in section 1-17 for each offense and a separate offense shall be deemed committed upon each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues.
